Here’s a story that brings the old movie “Home Alone” a bit too close to home. Donna St. George penned the article, “Squeezed on All Sides, Parents Forgo Day Care” published at washingtonpost.com on December 21. In the article she shares a recent occurrence in Riverdale, Maryland when city code enforcement officers found kids at home. Home alone. Parents that are hurting for cashflow during this economic crisis had begun to leave their preschoolers at home – to save money. Not only that, but their school age kids were home, too – to watch the preschoolers. The more officials looked, the more kids they found home. Alone.
